Life's not all about all these up's and down's
Nor who's all gone and who's stuck around,
It's not what you said, it's not what you did
How you stood as an adult or acted as a kid.
I think it's about how you handle pain
How you process emotions that call your name.
Are you a ripple of water on a clear blue lake,
Or a tidal wave searching for a soul to take.

wow! my cup of tea ..i appreciate the deep meaning throughout but especially in your closing lines .. it takes some courageous living to accept the pain, work through it and end more patient, empathetic and kind .. i have seen in my own life, and i believe without shaking .. that life's river of pain is far wider and longer lasting than that of joy .. not out of pessimism nor anger nor blaming .. but in honor of and with life .. glad i found this one my new friend!
