a poem about doing you best despite the chaos people try to bring.

People will build you up

just to tear you down

watch you struggle and make you feel like a clown

people will stand by you 

as long as it benefits them

watch them walk away and pretend to be your friend

people will listen

claim to care

watch you suffer and laugh at your despair

people will get angry

just because you try

watch them fall away and live your best life

people will cause chaos

no matter what you do

watch you do your best and still ridicule you

people will be difficult

when you put them boundaries up

watch them play their games and just walk away

people will stab you in the back

just to have control

watch you stand up for yourself and claim your being cold

people will get angry 

when you finally choose yourself 

watch them disregard you and expect you to be nice

people will wonder 

why you walked away

not knowing you saw right through them

watch you
