Photographs and Memories

Photographs and Memories

A Poem by Victoria Scott

What does a memory capture that a camera cannot?

What does a memory portray, if described, that the shallow cover cannot?

It is as the everyday.

We look about and see pictures of people in the past,

But if we saw memories, we wouldn't just see the smile, but, indeed,

Feel it on our features.

Every moment, every look, every taste, every sight, and every sound.

Photographs are memories with faces,

But memories are photographs with words.

You can't have one without the other,

Or you would lose the whole picture.

Great poem. This is a new way of thinking about it for me and I agree. :)

This is very true. A picture is nothing without the memory. I really like this piece. Very well written :)

Vary true I often find myself trying to remember something than look at a photo and remember.
