A Summer's DayA Poem by Victoria ScottI love how nature effects all kinds of inspiration! And that is sort of what this poem is about.
I remember a summer's day,
The sun shone and touch, like gentle finger, my skin, And bathed me in complete warmth. A book lay opened upon my lap, The smell of the pages filled me with an earthly contentment, Left unexpressed, but felt. Then beginning to feel drowsy Laid my whole self upon the grass. The dew soaked through my clothes As my feet wriggled in the soft green. Its days like these that turn the grey into sun. Its days like these that you defy everything, even gravity itself. Its days like these that make me realize that life is about moments, And in these moments we make things possible. All we need are moments to make a lifetime, And eventually generations. Capture every moment like you caught the breeze in your hair on that summers day, And never let it go.
