If I Were but a Star...

If I Were but a Star...

A Poem by Victoria Scott

If I were but a star…

Gleaming on that fateful night

Up in the heavens stand.

Glistening pure angels

Sing out with joyous might

As shepherds tremble, quaking, stand.

A cry pierces the still of the night

He is, Messiah of sunset’s light;

So he welcomes the power of his might.

If I were but a star…

Watching them travel

Travel from afar,

Giving their gifts to the true King

As angels in heaven sing.

If I were but a star…
