short storyA Poem by Athena Angel
it’s crazy to think i could ever go back
to accepting less than what i had for a moment bliss, fleeting, intensity, unconditionally, deep as the ocean type of love how could i go back? to what it was like to not know what it was even after all the pain it caused endless encapsulating agonizing tear filled questions hanging around my head like the thickest fog i couldn’t see through no moving on until i had to and so how could i go back? broken hearted like a fairytale character light switched off endless dark nights, no end in sight running from the fact that for the first time i needed someone more than the desert needed rain do you ever say my name and get a creeping pain you have to push down, drown out, cover up with layer and layers of something that won’t compare or is it just me how could i go back? i don’t think i can but do you remember it? one night we laughed until we couldn’t breathe one day i passed by you and grabbed your hand hand on the back of your head face fitting in it like gloves do i remember it, and i can’t go back can you? © 2021 Athena AngelReviews
