FrozenA Poem by Athena AngelA poem about the choice between moving forward or backwards and knowing you can't have bothI am frozen Like a block of ice, I cannot move I am torn between letting it die or letting
it push me back and forth Because I am torn between truly loving
someone or only loving them because I am too afraid to lose
Like a stone I’ve been knocked around Like a fire I slowly grew until I was burnt
out I’ve been torn between accepting a hurtful
hand’s touch Or breaking each of those finger one by one
I’m slowly reaching for something that won’t
ever exist Because my heart will never be quite as cold
as his is I am torn between letting someone come back
or saying goodbye Because how can you kill something that
refuses to die?
I am broken Like a picture frame, I hold tainted glass I am torn between what I want to end and
what I want to last I am torn between what I have and what I
thought I had
I stand at the gates of hell but heaven is
calling my name And from a faraway place I hear your voice
say to wait I have a chance now for permanent freedom I have a chance at a clean slate
But I am frozen Like a block of ice, I wait for the sun I am torn between wanting to stay and
wanting to run Because I am torn between loving or leaving
someone
