The Dark Room

The Dark Room

A Poem by Athena Angel
"

A poem i wrote way too late one night

"

And the rain feels a lot heavier at times

I will dance with the ghost of my past

Around and around we go

In a darkly lit room

I don’t think I’ll ever know

Exactly what left my mind too soon

We drown in the tears so heavy

Filling this room so easily

It slips right through my fingertips

Every solid thing I ever had

And soon enough my soul is ripped

So easily ripped in half

And I’m like a book with the pages falling out

the words leave too easily

before they have a chance to read

I don’t think I’ll ever understand

This dark place that I’ve come to love

This place that has become home.
