Homeless
A Poem by Angela L Garratt
Do you know what it really feels like to be without all the daily things we take for granted? There are people out there that really do know.
Homeless
It feels like the devil may care,
But no one else does.
The Spring days are a little warmer,
But the nights are still cold.
Walking keeps me warm,
Tears roll down my face,
I dry them,
I have no time for self pity.
I need food and sleep,
Hmmm, the wasteful bugger,
I bet those chips are still warm,
I reach in the bin, his loss, my gain.
I eat, I rest under the bridge,
But the rain has seen the brooke rise,
I cry, wet, cold, hungry,
When is it my time? When will I go home?

First of all the title of the poem is superb. It attracts us so deep and brings us with the writer to know the reason of homelessness.
How patheically the poet begins her story Saying no one care for the vagavond. His spring days are warmer and nights being so cold that he feels urgency of a home having roof on it.
It feels like the devil may care,
But no one else does.
The Spring days are a little warmer,
But the nights are still cold.
How acute are these expression that the child or man leaving in the poorest condition suffers much..weeping sweeping his eyes....
Walking keeps me warm,
Tears roll down my face,
I dry them,
I have no time for self pity.
The the writer in first for enliven the feelings of highly pathetic shivering from body to mind when he asks for food.
I need food and sleep,
Hmmm, the wasteful bugger,
I bet those chips are still warm,
I reach in the bin, his loss, my gain.
Picking up the wasteful dishes he seaches food and chips that people had left uneaten..
I eat, I rest under the bridge,
But the rain has seen the brooke rise,
I cry, wet, cold, hungry,
When is it my time? When will I go home?
Overall this short piece of writing is really eye-opening warning for the rest world who do not the idea of poverty... thanks for writing this kind of poetry.Keep writing...

It is so easy to take for granted a warm, soft bed or a couple of hours in front of the TV. There are so many people out there that struggle everyday just to survive. I count my blessings every day. I know I am one of the lucky ones. The homeless, animal or human are in my prayers.
