The Light

The Light

A Poem by ang

The dark abyss patiently awaits me

I leave my light behind

With the small hope

To stumble across something more magnificent

In the dark I do not know

For who knows what lies around the bend

What once was my candle

Is now the light of the day

Without risks

Without hope

Without taking a leap of faith

I could be stuck with a candle

When the light of the day

Is a mere step away

Nice poem, really captures the inherent doubt that comes with taking risks, even if you know they're more than likely to make you happy. I suggest changing "light of the day" to "light of day" just because I think it sounds better with your ending line. Of course that's just my opinion. Again, good job (:
