Imperfection

Imperfection

A Poem by AJ Douglas

A crack in the crystal
A chip in the china
maladroitly mishandled
There is a certain beauty
to their blemishes
Something fascinating
in their flaws
Scars are stories
engaging epics
There is poetry
in imperfection
A sensational sonnet
in my reflection

Superb! You use grand words without melodrama, yet have created a fine drama of how the imperfect can have its own character - perhaps a mysticism because perfection is too often the ultimate goal for what is bes Think the comparison of a face with Life lines or a Protected Tree and its majestic bark. Your words hint at kind of glory. 'There is poetry - in imperfection'

How very true. Great sonnet!?.
