The Girl in the Mirror

The Girl in the Mirror

A Poem by Ang Hents

I look in the mirror

And what do I see

Besides my reflection

Staring back at me

A girl who must follow

A path less traveled

And thus it is bravery

That must be marveled

She walks for days

Not knowing where she goes

Until she feels the warm grass

Between her toes

She loves the chill of the wind

As it caresses her skin

And she spins around

Loving the world she’s in

Lovely....simple yet profound. And the musicality flows relatively smooth. No creases here. Well done!

I feel like it is not an easy thing to look in the mirror these days and measure who you are and where you fit into the world. You seem to have done that in this poem, and I have to say, that is a very mature thing. I agree with Makosica about the meditative moment. You survey your life and where it must go for you to be happy. This was an inspiring idea.

Yes, after a meditative momemt of deep reflection which brings us an affirmation of independence and strength we can turn around and face the world with authority! Just how your words moved me-- inspiring write.
