Death's Invitation

Death's Invitation

A Poem by Angel Bluestocking

Temptation.
Oh, how good it will be.
Simply to succumb to Death's invitation.
A chance to fade and be forgotten.

Though it be the coward's way;
I would readily embrace my end and fade.

Fade and be forgotten ---
I feel that I wince from the very thought.
Yet, I shudder with anticipation.

You speak with this profundity in such limited phrasing? Well, yes you do! And bravo! But now I worry....although, my sense is that your "shudder with anticipation" is meant with a traditional perspective. It sounds as though you believe it could provide a sense of freedom, this being "forgotten"...no?

Wow, I'm usually not one for poems about death, BUT there's something about this piece I really enjoy. I think that I liked it because it's short, and to the point. But in those few sentences you get across a strong point. Bravo :)

I do like this. It may be short but it really does say a lot. Great job on this one.
