The Devil

The Devil

A Poem by Hopeless Angel

Eyes as red as underneath
The scent lurking in the room
Rolls under the door and frees itself
My mind is relaxed, my head is high
The devil surrounds me
I take a hit
My worries go by
He speaks to me deeply
Telling me to run
To run as fast as I can
To find what I'm looking for
Which is peace and acceptance
But the walls cave in
And they crowd around me
While the devil laughs and shakes his head
There's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
I belong here, hell is my home
I take another hit
And soon I fade away
Into the devil himself
And become what he wants me to be
