Dying Alone

Dying Alone

A Poem by Ange Faith
"

Many people die in despair and alone. No one at their side. I can only imagine the feeling.

"

Too many pieces to hold.
In this darkness I am appalled.
Retracing my steps
I can not gather
Them all .

I try and go forward
I can not see.
Reaching for the warmness
of anyone next to me.

Desperation fills my soul
Feeling my way through nothing
To make my heart whole
The pieces I must have all.

But I am so lost.
No one cares for me at all.
How will I ever pay the cost
For turning my back on every call?

With broken heart in hand
I walk alone in the dark.
To finally find the place
My heart- death  demands.

wow, you are so right about the loneliness of not only old age but even during life and to only end within a lonely death...nice work.

i like this for content...found the rhythm to be a bit rough...even with free verse, there is a flow...

might work on that...but i like the personification...very strong feeling/emotion shown here.
