and shall we go dancing?

and shall we go dancing?

A Poem by andy groe

and shall we go dancing,
and turn on the floor?
to speak only nothing
but love and of lore?
for i know nothing now
of what is not here
nor the sound of your name
before you were near.
it's a pure simple way
to love what is mine,
if it not for your hand
my heart would resign.
but fortune has found me
and shown me your face,
with a moment of truth
and wonderful grace.
wrapped tight in your eyes,
i journey ahead
to a time not now past
and hist'ry unread.
until then we must wait
to live but as one,
though we happily pass
this soon to be done.
so i ask once again
to slip from your shoes
and let steal me your kiss
as our dance renews.
