you, at last

you, at last

A Poem by andy groe

a smile through a window

and an overdue embrace.

quietly shared words

with intent to feel

and a familiar warmth

breathing me in.

carrying a hand

that grasps gently back,

wishing for the future

but cherishing the now

and a kiss upon a cheek

in a broken down booth.

time spent making memories,

capturing them in both

black and white.

two budding hearts

together,

never wishing

to become unentwined,

never wishing

for another day apart.

i will see you again,

for i can't take the missing.
