my always button

my always button

A Poem by andy groe

i've lost my button,

my always button,

the one that's sewn inbetween.

he's a round little fellow

and ever so mellow,

yes my 'always' is the one that i mean.

i lost him at dawn,

i don't know where he's gone,

i hope he's somewhere to be.

for he's my favourite one

and without him, i'm done,

he's the best of the black brothers three.

i love my button,

my always button,

though he's not here anymore.

i know one day he'll return

and with something to learn,

and i'll love him much more than before.
