tattooed on my arm

tattooed on my arm

A Poem by Nosce Te Ipsum

ill be your bluebird

until i can no longer fly

i will be your momma bird

feeding you

and keeping you warm

in your lonely nest

we will rest

in the trees together

mountains so blue

and skies so bright

you chirp to me

so secret

so dear

only i understand

my feathers may fall

but they shall be used...

used by an artist

oh please i beg

would love

till my feathers are gone

ill be your bluebird

and the day that i

can no longer fly

you will pick me up

and carry me along

I like this idea of the tatoo as an independent being with it's own story. It's a tricky story that could have easily been put together in a way that wouldn't work, but the distractedness of the speaker is what gives this piece its power. Very nicely done. And, by the way, write for your own pleasure and need to express yourself, but never turn away from good suggestions to make your work better.

Honestly, I simply write for myself. I'm not big on the technicalities. I do it to keep myself sane because generally there is no other way to release my emotions. I will be thrilled and overjoyed if .. more..
