Falling

Falling

A Poem by Nosce Te Ipsum

They take me by surprise every day.
Yellow, red, orange like her headband.
I bet she wishes she knew she was in my writings.
They make me slide like soap under my feet.
They take me by surprise,
But kindly catch my balance with my vision focused on them.
I kick them up with my little brown shoes that hurt my feet.
They float back down and we continue on. No surprise there.
A bird buried underneath, lifeless, breathless, loss of freedom that I stole…
Stole as inspiration.
The scent intoxicates my soul, unexpected, sweet, unique.
Like no other and only for a short while.
My time to replenish myself is gone like shattered glass, falling.

Honestly, I simply write for myself. I'm not big on the technicalities. I do it to keep myself sane because generally there is no other way to release my emotions. I will be thrilled and overjoyed if .. more..
