The Old WestA Poem by Andrew N. FarrensPotent Trees burned and filled my filthy, dark bed-room with thick smoke & I was inspired by the historically inaccurate movie 'Wyatt Earp', the pretentious version w/ that Jerk Chicken Kevin CostnerThe Old West -- A Kazinsky Quick-Rhyme -- More than one hundred and fifty years ago, Buffalo Bison roamed through the West. For years in History, time moved slowly and the dumb beasts could not know what came next. A future of despair where the insanity inherent of humanity seems to be reflex. This is a past where killers, and men who would be killers, strapped six-guns to their bodies and sometimes gold stars on their chests. The dust clogged air of small shanty towns with dirt roads smelled of strong whiskey and paid for sex, along with the aromatic stench of horse manure and decomposing human flesh of rough and filthy men who discovered too late that with a six-shooter they were not the best...... and they also forgot that this planet Earth happens to not be our permanent residence but rather the home of Mother Nature, who is forever, while us humans are insignificant and mostly rude guests. Indeed. Andrew N. Farrens West Stockton, California July 11, 2013 18:45
