The Hands of Time

The Hands of Time

A Poem by Andrew N. Farrens
"

Inspired by James A. Michener's "Hawaii". Res Ipsa Loquitur

"

Just like how The Hands of Time cannot be stopped

The merciless beauty of this cruel World will not be mocked

The pain and misery of those lost Souls who were sadly caught

Believing that this life is the ever-lasting living Hell

In which they are destined to forever burn and rot

Though it hurts terribly, I see the World’s beauty

For it is without mercy, I know that Hell it is not

Without torment, you can never appreciate blessed happiness

That no matter how much money is spent, can never be bought

And

That is how it should be as The Hands of Time

Move across the face of this World’s eternal clock…..

Opening Comments
I thought this was a great poem. We can't compare our experiences if we have nothing else to compare them too.

Imagery
"Though it hurts terribly, I see the World’s beauty
For it is without mercy, I know that Hell it is not" I liked these lines, thought it showed a rough picture of what we see.

Grammar and Spelling
Love how you worded this in such a short write. Well done.

Closing Comments
It was really well written and thought out. I loved the structure.
Good job. :)

thank-you....
Great poem! How can we love the positive experiences if we don't have the negative to compare the feelings. And man is so forgetful of the blessings.

A sense of the constant activity indicated by this write is more true about our lives than what most people would care to admit. It implies that in our search for life's solutions, it is not one thing that is true but many things in a string of activity.

Such is the irony of life! All the pain and sorrow that we encounter in this life and in the life of others comes with an unchallenged acceptance... We don't do anything to relieve others out of them.. but its a blessing in disguise for it allows us to appreciate the happier towns.... I love this one.. A deep, philosophical write that talks about the larger picture.. Very well done :)

I do enjoy the poem but I have to say my favorite part was the signature, the date, and the exact time.
