TRAGEDY OF A KISS

TRAGEDY OF A KISS

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

As I looked into your eyes
quickly,
the weight of the world fell
swiftly.

And apart I was from
apart.
It's a spell,
sometimes the heart..
...the art that it
designs.
Emotions that words
can't find.
And I...
...you the words
don't seem to
pay.
It was the
day before yesterday
I could wake and
find a reason to
live free
and not think about
what I was gonna take
To be be seen without
an alibi.
To soul-shift and
not die.
To seek the heart with not
my eyes.
To be alone
but together upon high.
To be,
not need,
not feed,
ambitions of vanity and greed.

A short bliss,
enchanting whiff.
Did I find it or am I amiss?
my inheritance..

...with TRAGEDY OF A KISS.
