HOW RIGHT AND WRONG WE ARE

HOW RIGHT AND WRONG WE ARE

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

HOW RIGHT AND WRONG WE ARE

If we only ever realized how right and wrong we are...

...thankful for misgiving,
that keeps a bending arch
And fattest in our nature
will ever steal the thin,
of status that will always feel
a burning in our skin

A dark step tears
a corner to our path
These numbers never lie to us
but love is never math
And deeply so is grace within
as fire in it's flame
And truly do we live the burns
branded in our names

And how we blame within the day,
anything that's wrong
And how we shame and unjustly claim,
everything that should belong...

...in our hearts.
And long for it,
pouring down like rain
Have we a song for it,
every drop that's came...
...yet still the same

Oh, if we realized how right and wrong
we are,

then maybe right would take it's place,
casting wrong afar.
