Service

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

SERVICE"

Shall I not indulge
in the receiver,
overshadowing the element of
giving.
Stealing not
the underlying gift of
redemption.

And within the depths
may I see who needs,
as shallow
I sail my own.

That infinitely I share
my substance,
while self-suffering
I forever protest.
