Interpretations

Interpretations

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

I see you walking on the left
side of the road
But left is right
the other way you
go

And I know,
you know more or less than me
Your face be but a blur
unless I choose
to see

So make me believe your
interpretation
Are you criminal or cop
in this plethoric
world of
investigations

while nations rise and fall
to the ground
with voices
screaming
yet some
never hear a sound

and around, and around
this circumspective
circuit,
some lost in two-dimensional
circles
instead of walking the Earth's spherical surface

And just for worth's purpose might I propose
my side and leave my mind open
to better ideas,
to new words
spoken

instead of choking on the gases,
the fumes of
the flamed intentions,
caught fire then
burned to
ashes
another obsolete invention

With tension may we seek what's
right
Than perhaps we'll merge
with amity
into one another's
plight

May we bury the bones..
..the decaying
degradation
that in our
souls
we grow,
our own interpretations.

Love this and am very surprised at the lack of reviews. This is brilliantly written, leaving me pondering many interpretations. A true sign of a real poet, one who writes from the heart and soul, making me think as I "feel" something. Great job, Matt.

A great writer is not always so eloquent with his words, not always the best orator, not even the most profound within literacy; but one who is led by his pen through the inspiration of the heart. One.. more..
