Eruptions

Eruptions

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

There are shock waves
that shake
the existence
of what's
waiting
to explode inside us.
Forsaking meritocracy
and the
"Daily News,"
the yearnings for fame that blind good character.
The fear of being alone
that leaves us only as spectators.

When the lava rises up in us
will we pale
Will we let the hope of mere good fortune
suffocate us like
ashes in the
air

Lets not wait,
but commit our dispositions
to another valley
So when the
volcano explodes
we aren't
left for yet another mundane tally

Inner volcanoes that are ready to erupt from within...A splendid poem...:)......................
