Hand Gliding

Hand Gliding

A Poem by Matt DeFranco
"

"This piece is about letting go and moving onward. Flying if you will away from past barriers and onto new hopeful endeavors."

"

Hanging over the cliff, potential magnate.
A seer unto the lost with wind-carved
structure. The leaves swirl from the sage-
brush, aside intent. Him, introspective

leaning and exterior provoking gallant...
and liberty. Then he sees an eagle landing
to his right. The soul emits power and flight,
undaunted. Feathers stacked upon ages,

man's journey. And the bones from the
bottom dust grouse as the sea makes
it's yawn. What each of them not filled
with souls of flying intent. He spreads

his hands lateral and rests his eyes
with a deep, dark shuffle gazing before
time. And a breath before he sheds all-
amazing fear, soaring from the precipice.

You are right. Man's journey is fraught with disaster after another. From calamity to calamity. There is hope that keep us going from the brink. Eventually good will prevail in due time...Bravo.................
