D I F F E R E N T D I M E N S I O N

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

I've always lived in a different world

an ethereal ecstasy

Where I would feel your voice

and hear your eyes.

But you were so evasive

changing names

and trading faces.

How I got lost in the locks of your

hair

how they teased my fingers when you were not there.

And I'd shift galaxies to find you again

but only your traces to my

chagrin.

I would ravage the moon

to pull down the night

and be alone at dawn

with the dreadful light.

Floating in nonexistent matter

falling from stars that failed to

flatter.

I orbit a different place

far from the ruins

and echos

I still see sometime, in the constellations

that part I didn't let go.

I was never your

sun,

moon,

or your star.

Yet as close to love as that

planet.....

...that apart.

I know you're there though

I see you in sky's

attention.

As immortality chases me I'll find you in...

... A DIFFERENT DIMENSION.

Most people appear to be searching after a counterpart, not sure who it is they are looking for exactly. "You were so evasive, changing names and trading faces". Nicely done, Matt.
