Variables

Variables

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

Variables

Might not I ever suppose

that I always know,

what's in the heart of another

and read the quotes

and covet the notes

that ravage the

truth

asunder.

While judgement is game

and strives for fame

may I see

backwards and under...

This list I have

for the ill...

...contempt,

may I be jolted

by my own thunder.

You see veracious

I strive

but sometimes I hide

beneath the tree of

blunder.

And cursed the one

who points my way

have they been

as far as I've,

under.

While variables remain

within the veins

in the lives I see in

others

may I see that every truth,

is not completely

uncovered.

cause where there's truth

there's always

a root

deeper than

what's discovered....
