NightmareA Chapter by Anastasia“We are coming for you” The knights were moving closer and closer to me. “Ahh” I sat up and almost fell of, but found a balance in what seemed like a hammock .My eyes got used to the dark, and I looked around.I am was right, I was sitting in a hammock that was hanged next to the furnace, up on the ceiling. Joseph was peacefully sleeping on the couch underneath me. “Had a nightmare?” Jon got up and hopped of the furnace. “Yeah, the knights were coming for me, sorry that I woke you up” I felt guilty and good ,that there was someone to keep me company, at the same time. “Nah, it’s ok” He was next to the countertop looking through herbs.” I have nightmares as well, especially about my mother.” “What happened to your mother?” I hopped off the hammock and walked over to him, barefoot on cold wooden floor. “She, she…” He turned away “ she died, in a fire…. The government set the house on fire!” Suddenly he was mad, “ just don’t tell Joseph I told you, he saved me that night, he still blames himself for not saving my mother.” Jon was miserable again. “Oh, I am sorry, I shouldn’t have brought up this topic.” “It’s not your fault, I was the one to mention her first” he handed me a mug with a steaming drink, “Here” He climbed up the ladder to the top of furnace and put out a hand for my drink. “ Thanks” I handed him the drink and started climbing up. When I got to the top, he scooched over, making me a seat, and gave back my tea. “Thanks for what?” He looked puzzled “ Thanks for saving me, without you I would’ve been dead right now.” I took a sip from the mug. I started to fall back into dark, deep sleep on his shoulder.© 2017 AnastasiaReviews
