Darwin has left the building

Darwin has left the building

A Poem by anartao

Darwin sits with packed bags stacked on the platform of mans station,

a throwback to a thinking past surpassed by forged equations,

a grimace worn like a lover torn by another hearts betrayal,

the thought that taught from fin to foot now disappears by rail

The wind flutters a scribbled note, just freshly wrote, by means of explanation,

disgust at mankinds lack of trust in a natural germination,

the banning of the microscope, through futile hope, of furthering the steeple,

these family trees that so displease a certain type of people

As the profits preach conversion from the deitys reach to dollars

the Beagles voyage is stripped to fresh equip the galleys collars,

the saviours fish can reminisce from lakes they’ll never leave,

as limbs and thought are fought as foe, and caught with no reprieve
