Faith

Faith is like a candles flame that flickers in the night,

and when dark times come calling it can shed much needed light

And yet its not a signpost pointing out the path to take,

it's the strength to step into the dark, and trust the choice you make

And when the winds of doubt and fear blow strong throughout your soul

the flame of faith can be snuffed out, that warmth the cold wind stole

But all the doubt and darkness are necessary steps to help us grow,

and its strength and perseverance that we learn when that wind blows

We are not like matches with one chance to hold that fire,

for our souls are like a wick inside that ache for that sweet pyre

And after all the darkness how much brighter is that flame ?

How much stronger is that faith inside thats carried in loves name ?

Sometimes i feel within my heart that the flame never actually dies

Its we who blink and miss the light, its we who shut our eyes
