Eve's struggle

A young woman’s life is taken in a cruel and callous act
The global outrage finds a voice in many lands
Yet Indian misogyny’s a fraction of the fact
For Eve has suffered long from Adam’s many hands

From archaic institutions that deny women a flock
To corporate wages whose disparity is clear
Coupled with the sex trade selling women like livestock
And rape a tool of war, destructive and severe
 
From perceptions of a woman’s place as kids and kitchen bound
To female infants whose lives are ended before they start
From the macho world of rap where only b*****s can be found
To child brides who’ll never know their choice of heart

To whatever extent in every country round the world
Discrimination of the feminine exists
And if we ever hope to see the banner of equal rights unfurled
This myth of patriarchy we all need to resist
