A final goodbye

A final goodbye

A Poem by Ananth Napa
"

The final goodbye of a person dying.... dedicated to everybody in his life.

"

I stood gazing the stars,

As wind blew past my face,

Sinking in the smell of the swooning leaves,

As memories of the people I loved flashed,

Eyes so moist the vision blurred,

Past sins, past glories all in a moment,

Hands trembled as I let go,

Surroundings, frozen in time,

All that appeared was a bright flash,

What was needed was done,

A sacrifice needed for a save,

As the final moment approached all I had was a smile,

A wry smile escaped my lips,

People I hurt, people I helped their memories was all I had,

A frown, a smile, a glimmer in my eyes,

As I was at least at peace,

As I bid my final approach to protect, to save and to love.
