shopping.. it's a narcotic for prison world

I’m in LOVE - drunk love,
look stupid love - and I
expect a harsh trial.

A hurricane is
due - the sky is coldly-gray,
and the wind is fierce.

Tech issues have school
on hold and walking is a
peak-experience.

Then - the blue gray truck
rounds the corner and I’m hit
with Christmas-like joy.

I LOVE shopping,
like a lush loves drink or a
gambler loves risk.

It’s nigh erotic.
How can YOU resist it? Please
- tell me your secret??!!

** Amazon trucks are blue gray =]

You use strong & unusual but fitting details to word-paint a scene we can all recognize. Many people have had a shopping addiction at some time or another. During covid lockdowns, the most common complaint was from people dying to SHOP! I've been online-shopping for ten years (I'm housebound) so I've learned to curb my shopping passion finally. I have a friend who only talks about her latest acquisitions. I wish I could show her the way to leave her shopping obsession behind! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Indeed there is a theory that women find shopping as intoxicating as taking heroin. Me personally, I find it depressing for the most part, but then again I am male lol!
