Selfless

Selfless

A Poem by anaisbelieve

happened to me
i could not feel my hands
although i threw them up
i owe nothing but to my own resilience
i have my own condolences for the death of me
the one you believed was coming
the one that was an invention of exaggerated maturity

i'd be anyone if everyone would agree
that it was not a fallacy
if there was one thing you wanted me to be

but that is my self
that is my self
there's no one else

but there was one
her face was a mess of emotion
pressed close and she was pleading

it that the one who drinks
such a pretty little thing
nothing like 19
