Coming in Water

Coming in Water

A Poem by anaisbelieve

I could not run fast enough
this is not mere falling
it is intended visions splitting
i saw the sky shudder in violets
and blue northern clouds born

i could not be tamed
my beat is feral and
eyes angry can not
overcome i have buried
my best words from you
i have buried my lies
so far in the truth
they've become a bed rock
of sleeping history
i blame me for running

my sister with her cello
could ease the mind of me
as child hiding in the
cupboards she found boys
and put down her bow i
tremble at the trouble i
could bring to myself by
putting down myself to
pick up you and all your habits
that charm my snake soul.

i don't belong to myself
i belong to the people i
extend myself to, a missing
strand of hair caught in
a rubber band discarded and
forgotten
who i am

becoming another path breaking
all prior bridges and smiling
at the fissure from past. i know
something so pure can not last
this taint is coming in water
i will drink it knowing
i will drink it knowing
i will drink it knowing
