I know you loved him,
But you loved him to death, And I loved him like life itself. __________________________ So your pain does not compare. To that, I'll keep a locket of his hair, That you loosened, and I cut free, By virtue of being there. __________________________ And I will not spite his grave, By daring to show my face, But when you flee, I'll lie, Like I longed to do in life, With him at my side, Forever, like a bride.
