An Ode to BlackA Poem by Ana Rlove compared to nature and colorVeins down our arms intertwine like
elongated branches
Trees in disguise
Blood pumps and I realize I just
might be traveling time.
I turn to you, we wonder together,
What is blue, really?
Tell me.
Just reflections of light?
You are dark and endless
Black, you are all of my colors
Mixed together, delicately,
patiently
Our child will be royalty and
together we are god because of the life we make
Let us be gentle with one another,
like the grass’s sway
Let us love furiously and deadly,
like stormy weather
Find your calm in my eyes and I
will find mine in yours forever
