Will this candle flicker and die?

Will this candle flicker and die?

A Poem by Anthony Nacrelli

There's a candle,
and it sits right behind my rib-cage.
There are days I wish it'd die.
Life would be so much easier
without it flickering in there
but all the beer I purchase
it doesn't suffocate the flame.
all the pills
all the late nights
all the loose woman
they do very little.

At times I envy the man who knows little of himself
who knows nothing of his ambition
nothing of what he truly desires.
His candled set out long ago
when he got over the thought of being an astronaut
and so it never burns his chest.

Perhaps some day
this candle's flame length will grow
grow so large it burns this house of spirits to the ground
and it will be all that is left
Perhaps some day
it will just flicker and die
and on that day
I should hope I do to.
