Dark girl,
they say she wonders at night, lingering.
Her hair as black as a moonless night,
her eyes as green as the emeralds poached from
slaves.
Skin as soft as summer rain and as pale as glistening white frost.
She told me her soul was as black as a witches cat,
but who said cats were black?
who was she that foretold?

but who said cats were black? who was she that foretold? This emphasizes upon the fact that humans have a tendancy to fall under conventions. We require to keep an open mind by not readily attributing things to concrete conventions.

I love this. Your words are great, the description and the imagery are both amazing. I'm gonna read through your other poems, I'm looking forward to it!
