Pollution

Pollution

A Poem by amystewart

We only focused on our own things
Enjoying the joy life brings
We begged god to forgive us for our mistakes
For all the pollution we caused to rivers and lakes
But now it was to late
Our planet had an expiration date

We begged for the forgiveness of the  unborn
and all the parent-less parents who could do nothing but mourn
We cursed everyone under the moon
Knowing we had no one else to blame for our doom

We all knew we had dug our own grave
We had become our possessions slave
The earth had become a place for the grim reaper to play
and that's the story of how humanity withered away
