Words on a Soul

Words on a Soul

A Poem by amyo

Words on a Soul

There are people who write on paper. People who type on keys.

Their words stick around begging to be read and reread and sung.

To children, perhaps.

When the sun is setting, those words bring dreams so sweet.

There are people who write with paint and charcoal and clay.

Their words are different " there are no letters to sound.

But people read and feel and share them.

They tell sadness and loss, joy and gain.

They don’t use words,

But they tell stories just the same.

Then there are people who write but not on paper

Or with paint or charcoal or clay.

They write on the souls of those they meet.

They use words painted in pictures and molded in clay

And written in verse and hidden in chapters

To forever reach the inner intricate places hidden away.

They become intertwined with us until there’s no beginning

And no end.

Just words written on souls. Souls that long to share

And write stories all their own.
