Nana...A Poem by AmyNana… Nana; that is what we called her A true African beauty Of flawless imagery Highly incomprehensible A true goddess
Nana… The only one we ever had To wipe those tears on our faces Never caring about the ages No matter how much we had grown We were still her babies
Nana… Even when we were eight, She would carry us on her back Never caring about our weight Even when she staggered, She carried on
Nana… Whenever she was there, We never lacked There was nothing like hunger And on her milk, We always supped
Nana… She would tuck us in bed With such tender loving care And sing us to sleep Softly and gently With her voice, ever so sweet Ever charming, ever meek
Nana… Our darling best friend Who showed us perfect care We will love you till the end For you have been there Never giving up on us No matter how much We did make you sad
Nana… Someday somewhere Someone will hear of you And know of all the good That you bestowed on us We cherish you; our love Our Nana; our grandmother…
