99.9%A Poem by Amy Sese08 June 2017Your memory fails to remember that i forget what you look like to your neighbors, to the public, to your ex lovers, to lustful strangers.. about 99% of the population. You once told me you were no good for me. Actually, you spoke of it plenty. Was it because you saw yourself in the view of all these cowardice eyes? Who seek to f**k than to give. Who will not give a f**k even if their life depending on it. Was your self-perception rooted from all of this? You are not them. You….are not like them. Yeah, I see your sensuality. I admit it’s something what brought me, initially. It’s not what kept me, it’s not why I kept fighting with you, to stay. Ask me what I looked forward to. Ask me why i ever adored you. It’s what flowed from your thoughts, your tongue, your broken heart you swear was fixed, but wished it was never shattered to begin with. Because you’re barely standing, behind the scenes. And, I see that, what the lens doesn’t see. It’s what i (we) felt, once upon a time. Your movements, I sense. I don’t want to play… None of that cat and mouse s**t. But you still have me at a simple,“hey, you”, I cannot deny it. And you cannot deny me, even when you’ve tried, multiple times. We both know it isn’t that easy. © 2017 Amy Sese |
