Show Up

Show Up

Show up.

Tell me the sun waited for us to show up,

in sync,

before it set against gravity.

Show up,

and tell me your golden brown skin lit my path,

so i could find you from a distance,

across the cities.

Show up with your hair a mess,

because you ran against the wind

to reach me.

Show up to sit with me in silence,

for seconds at a time.

…until I speak for the thousandth time

because i can’t seem to get enough of you.

Of your replies, your annoyance, your thrill

to all of my nonsense.

Just so I'll feel your words go through me,

giving off heat

to warm me.

…matching the rays of the sun

in the night.

Show up to move me.

Swoon me and abuse me.

Show up because you want to,

without hesitation,

engulf into an ocean you admired from afar.

Show up because you want to

immerse into the abyss of my love.

Because you know i’ll resuscitate your spirit.

Your fragile heart,

your imagination,

everything paralyzed and everything ruthless about you.

Show up because you dream of waking up,

exclusively to me.

…and, staying.
