Romantic Ish

A Poem by Amy Sese

"
I can't afford to lose you,
not when I'm feeling like this.
Like my heart's about to throb out of my chest
and run toward you,
before I could actually get to you.
I can't afford to turn my back,
when my eyes are fixed on you and your lips.
...when my senses can't get enough of your scent.
I can't afford to let your body go,
while you still fit so perfectly in my arms.
I can't afford to lose my memory
when my daily thoughts revolve around us.
I can't afford to lose my voice
when I have yet to tell you I heart you,
every waking morning.
I can't afford to lose my pride.
But if i do, I'd place it aside for you.
I can't afford to have an addiction
unless it's an addiction to you.
I can't afford to a waste a day.
But if i do, I'd rather waste these days with you.
I cant afford to lose my sunlight
unless it means that your moonlight will shine brightly on me.
Most importantly, i can't afford to be a "me" without you.
Just us two, siempre.
