November 2013; post thoughts on the documentary, "Bully"
Bullying:
A manmade disaster.
A destruction of the helpless mind.
A tender mark...
A scar.
A cry for help.
A screech for attention.
A pathetic norm
that creates heightened tension.
Bullying, it’s a storm that rises to the surface,
drowning victims,
who have no commonality except for their vulnerability.
It shatters the motive to wake up to daylight.
It discourages the human desire to look anyone in the eye.
It halts the emotional growth at any age.
It questions the quality of life.
Bullying.
Those who do not know any better,
watch.
Those who accept it,
play.
Those who fall prey to it
are paralyzed.
Those who feel moved by it,
FIGHT.
For that awakening to be spread,
nationwide.
Worldwide. To the person beside them.
They become that voice
for all that has been unspoken.
Tolerated.
They DO,
something.
To prevent.
To have sufferings end.
To have the lives taken in vain
soar in justice.
They DO so
with empathy,
with direction,
away from the senseless ridicule of today.
