Internal AffairsA Poem by Amy Sese2009
You always used to tell time.
If it was too soon. If it was too late. You always knew how to relate with what was happening. You always thought on your own. Never consulted with upstairs. Never wanted to constrain or be constrained from foreign affairs, unfamiliar places, unfamiliar faces. You were always so irrational. So quick to be in denial of those foolish games, your foolish ways. It took awhile to know the difference between friendship and more than. ...to know that not everything happens for a reason. But you finally learned to collaborate, accustom to the twist and turns of nowadays. Not get lost in the world of your own, caught in the tangle of all that you have known, or the hopes you always tried to resew. You learned to redraw the lines, not be the one to be left behind. You almost scared me there. But heart, you're becoming a stranger to me. Are you even still there?
